Make sure your employees feel valued with recognition and long service awards

When somebody has given up years of their life to work for you, it’s common courtesy to show them that you appreciate their dedication. In the business world, its importance goes further than just politeness. If you don’t give your employees the recognition they deserve, you will lose them and your business will suffer for it.

A great way to show your loyal employees that you appreciate their work is by presenting them with awards. Whether this is for recognition for good work or for the amount of time they have stayed with your company, it will make all the difference to your relationship with them, and you’ll find that they are more enthusiastic about their work.

Recognition awards are great because they show your employees that you care about the work they do. They are unexpected and work not as motivation but as a kind gesture and a way of congratulating someone for an achievement. This will give your employees encouragement and make them want to work harder, because they know they are being appreciated and valued for it.

Long service

Long service awards, like recognition awards, are a great way to congratulate and thank your loyal employees, but they are usually not unexpected. Instead of being a nice gesture, they are a necessary part of showing respect for your employees. You need to show how much you value the time your employees have spent with you, and this means the reward you give them needs to be worthy of their time. Having 10 years of their life commemorated by a company mug or a mention in the newsletter is not going to make your employees feel valued, so you need to put a lot of thought in to how you reward them.
